The Awarua Communications Museum is proud to advise that the museum is now operational.

To celebrate this occasion the museum hosted a gathering of members and friends on Thursday evening, 12 November 2015. Members were able to appreciate the work done by the building project team and to congratulate them on their wonderful efforts. The members were first shown an introductory movie in the museum theatre and then were able to explore the exhibits and check out the wonderful history recorded on the interpretation panels. The evening finished with supper.

At this time the museum is open for pre-arranged group visits - see our Welcome page for group visit contact arrangements.

Our formal opening is planned for mid-January 2016, and from that date we will be open to the public on Sundays between 11am and 3pm.
